Winter is the perfect time for a reset, don’t you think? I love using this season to change things up and try new habits. Whether it’s refreshing my mornings, taking on a glow-up challenge, or stepping out of my comfort zone, I’ve got four things to try this winter that I’m excited about!
1. Start a New Morning Routine
Winter mornings hit differently—they’re calm, quiet, and full of potential. It’s the perfect time to shake things up and create a routine that works for you.
I like to switch things around every now and then because doing the same thing every day gets boring. Change keeps life fresh and exciting.
This winter, focus on a routine that makes you feel good. Keep it simple, warm, and easy. Something that helps you start your day with purpose and peace.
Here’s a little inspiration:
-Drink a warm glass of water first thing—it’s a small act of self-love.
-Wash your face and tidy up your space. A clear space is a clear mind.
-Make your bed. It’s an underrated win that sets the tone for your day.
-Write down three things you want to focus on. Keep it light and intentional.
-Read a cozy book—just a few pages to get inspired.
-Journal whatever’s on your mind, even if it’s messy. It’s all part of the process.
-Step outside for some fresh air and let nature wake you up.
-Stretch your body—move gently, no pressure.
-Treat yourself to a healthy breakfast. Nourish your body because it deserves it.
2. Take a Glow-Up Challenge
Winter is the perfect time to glow up—there’s something about the cozy, quiet vibe that makes self-care feel extra special. This season, make it all about you and start a glow-up challenge to boost your wellness and build habits that actually stick.
A glow-up challenge is simple: you do one thing every day that makes you feel good. It doesn’t have to be big—it’s the little things that count. Go for a short walk in the crisp air, take a long, warm bath, try a new healthy recipe, or enjoy a fresh winter fruit.
You can follow a 12-week glow-up challenge or create your own. Keep it fun, keep it easy, and most importantly, keep it yours. Write everything down—your tasks, your thoughts, your progress. There’s something magical about looking back and seeing how much you’ve done.
3. Take a Phone Break
When was the last time you spent an hour without reaching for your phone? (And no, sleep doesn’t count.)
Winter is all about slowing down and reconnecting—with yourself, with the world around you, and with the things you genuinely enjoy. Taking a break from your phone isn’t just about ditching the screen; it’s about rediscovering how much life there is outside of it.
Put your phone away for a set amount of time and let yourself be fully present. See what it feels like to enjoy the moment without notifications pulling you back. You might just realize how refreshing it is to connect with the world offline.
Here are a few screen-free things you can do:
_Make yourself a cup of tea and dive into a book that captivates you.
_Tap into your creative side—sketch, paint, or just doodle.
_Take a walk outside.
_Try something new like knitting, origami, or finally tackle that DIY project you’ve been putting off.
_Work on a puzzle—it’s calming and gives your mind a fun challenge.
_Roll out a yoga mat or stretch your body. Let movement help you unwind.
4. Allow Yourself to Take Risks This Winter
Winter can feel like the perfect time to reflect, but it’s also a great season to embrace bold risks that bring you closer to your dreams.
Taking risks doesn’t mean being reckless—it’s about stepping out of your comfort zone with a plan, especially when the cold weather encourages us to slow down and reflect on what’s truly important.
Let this winter be the season where you trust yourself and take a chance on what you truly want. Start by clearly defining your goals—whether they’re career-related, personal, or about pursuing your passions.
Once your goals are set, think about the risks involved and the potential rewards they bring. Do your research, prepare for the unexpected, and create a thoughtful plan with clear milestones.
Don’t fear failure—it’s just a sign that you’re trying, learning, and growing. Every misstep is a step toward success.
This winter, dare to take risks, because it’s often when you step outside your comfort zone that the most meaningful achievements happen.
Winter’s the season to lean into change and take those small steps towards something new. Whether it’s a fresh morning routine or just taking risks, this is the time to grow and transform. Let’s make this winter all about doing what feels right and stepping into the best version of ourselves!
